We do not disclose information to nonaffiliated third parties, except as permitted by law, and do not anticipate doing so in the future.
We limit access to information only to those who have a reason for knowing, and only to nonaffiliated parties as permitted by law. We strive to maintain a secure site and computer environment to ensure that your information is not placed at unreasonable risk. Children's Privacy Policy
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 2000 requires that we publish how we collect, store, and use personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. It also requires that we gain the consent of parents or guardians of those children.
What sort of information do we collect?
Any child may use the In Your Element (Element) website without registering or providing any personal information. If a child chooses to register for Hello (our online community), we will collect name, email, im, cell phone, grade, school, hobbies, sports, clubs, and interests. Users are required to add their name, email, grade, sex, and school while registering for Hello. This information is required to verify identity, as well as determine which groups they fit into and also what is the best method of contacting them.
Cookies may be used to track general trends on the Element website but are not used to track each user's browsing tendencies or history.
How do we use the information that we have collected?
Hello is designed as a system to connect girls within our ministry. We may use the information to contact the users regarding upcoming events or activities associated with CFBC. All of the information is stored within a reasonably secure environment and is accessed only with an approved username and password.
Do we share personally identifiable information?
We do not share any personally identifiable information with third parties. Information is shared only with those who are participating with the Student Ministry at CFBC and have already met our rigorous standards regarding children's safety (our Safe and Secure program).
Parental Assent
Parents are required to approve their child's participation and use of Hello. If a child under the age of 13 registers for Hello, we will require written consent from the parent before approving the account. If the parent does not expressly permit the account in written form within 30 days, that child's account and information will be permanently deleted from our records.
Parents may also request that their child's account be deleted at any time and for any reason. Parents must submit a written request for account cancellation to webmaster@cfbc.org, including their name, email address, phone number as well as who their child is. CFBC will confirm this request and delete the account within 30 days.
Parental Review
Parents may contact webmaster@cfbc.org at any time and request to view any information collected on their child regardless of their age (up to age 18). The viewing will take place at CFBC at a time set by both parties.
Policy Changes
This policy may be updated or amended at any time without prior notice. The current policy is always availible at http://www.inyourelement.org/legal and should be referenced for the current policy.
